Bennerley Viaduct, known as The Iron Giant of the Erewash Valley, is a Grade II* listed landmark in Ilkeston. Standing 20 metres high and a quarter of a mile long, it was built in 1877-78 by the Great Northern Railway. Renovated in 2022, it now serves as a walking and cycling route with a nature reserve underneath.
