About
The Engineer is a striking sculpture and tribute to the construction of the rail tunnel across the River Severn. Designed by Rubin James Eynon, it stands at the Black Rock picnic area and is made from weathering steel. The sculpture, modelled on nineteenth-century engineer Thomas A. Walker, offers a unique perspective of the Severn Estuary and the Second Severn Crossing.
Open 24 hours every day, The Engineer provides a serene spot for visitors to enjoy the views and take leisurely walks along the coast path. It is particularly popular for its picturesque setting and the convenience of nearby barbecue facilities.
