MRS Training and Rescue has been a cornerstone of rescue services in Houghton-Le-Spring since 1913. Renowned for its comprehensive health and safety training, the centre offers courses such as confined space and working at height. The facility boasts state-of-the-art equipment, including over 100m of underground tunnels and an indoor work at height training rig, providing realistic training conditions. Operating from 8 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday, the centre offers both online classes and on-site services. Wheelchair accessibility is ensured with facilities like a wheelchair-accessible car park, entrance, seating, and toilet.
